Today we see Samsung Powerbank, a product that handles what it is called. While powerbanks are common, like a few wireless powerbanks on the market, fewer reputable manufacturers.
Samsung Wireless Powerbank goes one step further and also includes fast charging, not only for wired mode but also for wireless mode for Samsung smartphones.
For wireless charging, the powerbank supports standard Qi charging and Samsung's Fast Charge protocol as well as all the different Samsung smart watches.
For wireless charging tests, unfortunately, we didn't have any Samsung smartphones that support Samsung's standard Samsung Fast Charge, so we just tried it with the iPhone XR, which took painfully four hours to fully charge. If we get any compatible device that supports full speed, this powerbank will be able to update this article with the results.
As for the rest of the powerbank, it is made of aluminum casing, but the front part has a rubber plastic cover so that the wireless charging feature works. This panel looks a little flimsy and makes a stunning sound when pressed, which doesn't seem very reassuring. Hopefully, it will not be damaged over time.
Charging wire, powerbank can come out at 5V / 2A, 9V / 1.67A and 12V / 1.25A. Powerbank supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 and Samsung Fast Charge protocols. The battery has a capacity of 10000mAh.
We did some quick tests first with wired charging. Redmi K20 Pro, which has a 4000 mAh battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 up to 27W, is able to charge in less than 100 minutes, which is very close to what the phone can do with its 18W charger.
We also tried it out using the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e, which supports Samsung's fast charging standard, and we were able to charge a huge 7040 mAh battery in just two hours.
The powerbank has a USB-A port for power output and USB-C to charge the internal battery. The remaining power button shows you by flashing the four white LED and the other one to indicate whether the powerbank is on or off. The button also turns on wireless charging mode and if no device is kept on powerbank for a while, the wireless charging mode is automatically turned off.
A short 8-inch (20 cm) cable is provided to charge other devices. A powerbank can charge two devices simultaneously, one wired and one wirelessly. This will reduce the charging rate for both modes, but if you have, for example, the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Watch, you can both charge them together if you find a reason for both at the same time.
However, wireless charging is too slow to be used with non-Samsung products, but if you have a modern Samsung Galaxy S-Series or Note-series smartphone or any of its smart watches, you can expect good charging speeds even at Wireless networking mode. In this case, Samsung Wireless Powerbank deserves an additional premium.
